Welcome Board for the Certification of Residential Child Care Program Professionals
Welcome to the Maryland State Board for the Certification of Residential Child Care Program Professionals web site. The Board operates under the Maryland Certification of Program Administrators for Residential Child Care Programs Act, Health Occupations Article, Title 20, Annotated Code of Maryland. The State Board is the certification authority of residential child care program administrators (RCCPAs) and residential child and youth care practitioners (RCYCPs) in Maryland.
The Board is mandated to protect the children living in residential child care programs by certifying qualified RCCPAs and RCYCPs, establishing fees, administration of certification examinations, maintaining current roster of all certified individuals, promulgating regulations, verification of credentials, issuance of certificates, establishing requirements for and verification of continuing education, investigation of complaints based on alleged violations of regulations and statutes, and formal and informal disciplining of certified individuals, create committees as deemed appropriate to advise the Board, and submit an annual report to the Governor and Subcabinet for Children, Youth, and Families.

Board meetings are held the second Friday of every month at 9:30 AM. The General Session of the Board is open to the public. The State Board will not meet in August or November.
