| The Thomas B. Finan Center is a licensed 119-bed state of Maryland operated inpatient psychiatric hospital and an assisted living program. The Center’s operating capacity is 88 beds (66 beds for hospital patients and 22 beds for assisted living residents), and focuses on the adult population (age 18 and older). The Center serves as an integral inpatient component in the network of mental health services for Garrett, Allegany, Washington, Frederick and Montgomery counties. The Center strives to provide each patient/resident an individualized plan of care in the least restrictive setting permissible and as designed by a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals and the patient/resident. The facility is a totally smoke/tobacco free campus. Pastoral care/counseling is provided according to each person’s preference. Each person’s course of care is structured to help the patient/resident ascertain the highest level of rehabilitation in the least amount of time to expedite return to the most appropriate community setting.
