Managing for Results (MFR) was implemented in State government in order to meet the needs of Maryland's customers and stakeholders more effectively and efficiently. Managing for Results is a future-oriented strategic process that emphasizes achieving results that are both meaningful and measurable.

Managing For Results is prepared by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) as part of the operating budget and is updated annually. Departmental goals are outlined in the Departmental Summary, and each program has identified goals and objectives that are outcome-oriented and address the mission of the unit. The MFR plans reflect strategic planning decisions in DHMH and the individual programs.

Managing For Results plans include the following elements: Program Description, Mission statement, Vision statement, key Goals and Objectives, and Performance Measures. The plans can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate link on the left-hand margin of this page
