Maryland Commission for Women  

One of the goals of the Maryland Commission for Women is to bring information to Maryland women and girls including publications about women's and girls' issues and their rights, events, organizations, legislation and a community resources directory.  

Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

The Center for Maternal and Child Health  

The Center for Maternal and Child Health is part of DHMH’s Family Health Administration. The Center’s mission is to protect, promote and improve the health and well-being of women, children and adolescents in Maryland.

Maryland Family Planning and Reproductive Health Program

The goals of the Maryland Family Planning and Reproductive Health Program are to reduce unintended pregnancy and improve pregnancy outcomes by assuring that comprehensive, quality family planning and reproductive health services are available and accessible to Maryland citizens in need.

Maternal and Perinatal Health Program

The goal of the Maternal and Perinatal Health Program is to prevent maternal and infant deaths and other adverse perinatal outcomes by promoting preconception health, assuring early entry into prenatal care, and improving perinatal care.

Women’s Health Program  

The Women’s Health Program is part of DHMH’s Family Health Administration.  The goal of the Program is to assess and address health issues that commonly, uniquely, or disproportionately affect women throughout their life span. Women’s Health will partner with other program areas to facilitate access to comprehensive preventive and primary care services that incorporate the unique needs of women.  

Women Infants and Children Program (WIC)  

The Maryland WIC Program is a supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children under the age of five.  The mission of the WIC Program is to assist eligible women, infants and children to achieve improved nutrition and health status by providing nutrition education, selected supplemental foods, and health referrals in a caring, supportive environment. 

Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health  

The mission of the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health is to work in partnership with American Indian tribes to raise the health status and self sufficiency of American Indian people to the highest possible level. This mission is accomplished through three core activities: 1) research, 2) service, and 3) training.  Two of the Center’s research and intervention projects that focus on women’s health issues including: family strengthening for teen moms and post-partum depression prevention.

Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA)

Women of Color Network

The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault is a statewide collective voice advocating for accessible, compassionate care for survivors of sexual crimes, and accountability for all offenders.  MCASA works to end sexual violence through advocacy, education, community outreach, and technical assistance.  The mission of the Women of Color Network is to promote education, advocacy and leadership in communities in order to improve service delivery to victims. 

Commission for Women Counseling and Career Center  

The Commission for Women Counseling and Career Center’s primary focus is to identify inequities in laws, policies, practices and procedures, and recommend and promote remedies.  

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), Women’s Services  

The GBMC Women’s Services website provides a listing of services available at GBMC and information relating to women’s health issues.

Sinai Hospital – Women’s Services

The Women’s Services portion of the Sinai Hospital website provides information on the various Centers and services provided to women. 

University of Maryland, Women’s Center

University of Maryland Women's Center provides the highest level of comprehensive services for women of all ages and backgrounds in a comfortable, supportive environment. In addition to providing quality care and the latest in treatment options, wellness and healthy lifestyles are emphasized during annual well-woman evaluations. 

The Weinberg Center for Women’s Health and Medicine at Mercy

The Weinberg Center offers women access to one-stop quality healthcare. Mercy is committed to offering outstanding physician leadership and clinical innovation while maintaining the compassion necessary to treat the mind, body and spirit of a woman.  


 American Medical Women’s Association  

The American Medical Women’s Association is a national organization of women physicians and medical student dedicated to promoting women’s health, improving the professional development and personal well-being of its members, and increasing the influence of women in all aspects of the medical profession.  

Black Women’s Health Imperative  

The Black Women’s Health Imperative is an African American health education, research, advocacy and leadership development institution.  Its mission is to promote optimum health for Black women across the life span—physically, mentally and spiritually. 

Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health at the George Washington University

The Jacobs Institute of Women’s health is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in the field of women’s health. 

Lesbian Community Cancer Project  

The mission of Lesbian Community Caner Project is to advance the health and quality of life for lesbian, bisexual, and queer women and transgender individuals through advocacy and public education.

Mautner Project – The National Lesbian Health Organization

The Mautner Project improves the health of lesbians, bisexual, and transgender women who partner with women, and their families, through advocacy, education, research, and direct service.  We envision a healthcare system that is guided by social justice and responsive to the needs of all people.  

Meharry Medical College - Center for Women’s Health Research  

The mission of the Center for Women’s Health Research is to develop culturally sensitive models of health research and intervention that address health disparities in women of color in an integrated and holistic manner.

National Asian Women’s Health Organization  

The National Asian Women’s Health Organization’s Virtual Resource Center is designed to provide visitors with information about health issues and their impact on Asian American women and families.  The website contains program updates, links, and publications.

National Latina Health Network  

The National Latina Health Network addresses critical health concerns affecting Latina’s and their families and develops innovative health programs that help foster well-being and healthy behaviors and attitudes within Latino communities and establish and promote leadership and community health partnerships nationwide. 

National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health

The mission of NLIRH is to ensure the fundamental human right to reproductive health for Latinas, their families and their communities through public education, policy advocacy, and community mobilization. 

National Women’s Health Resource Center

The National Women’s Health Resource Center develops and distributes up-to-date and objective information based on the latest advances in medical research and practice in women's health.   

National Women’s Law Center – Health and Reproductive Rights

The Center works to advance and protect women’s health and reproductive rights—especially on behalf of low-income women, women of color, and other women who face additional barriers to health care access.  The Center’s Health and Reproductive Rights program addresses a broad range of health care concerns through national, state-wide and local efforts.

SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective  

The SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective is a network of local, regional and national grassroots agencies representing five primary ethnic populations/indigenous nations in the United States.    

University of California, San Francisco - Lesbian Health & Research Center

The mission of the Lesbian Health Research Center is to enhance clinical practice and inform policy about the health care needs of and delivery of services to lesbians, bisexual women, and transgender individuals through a program of research, postgraduate education and training, and public service. 



National Cancer Institute

Office of Women’s Health

The Office of Women’s Health plans, assesses, and coordinates National Cancer Institute programs in Women's Health.

Cancer Control and Population Sciences – Women of Color

The Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences aims to reduce risk, incidence, and deaths from cancer as well as enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors.  The Women of Color portion of this website provides cancer related information for subgroups of the four major ethnic groups.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration

Los Angeles District - Asian Pacific Islanders Women’s Health

The Asian Pacific Islanders Women’s Health website is a multi-lingual site offering several languages to help Asian Pacific Islander women understand the importance of having mammograms and pap smears at regular intervals.

Office of Women’s Health  

The Office of Women’s Health mission is to protect and advance the health of women through policy, science and outreach and advocate for the inclusion of women in clinical trials as well as sex/gender and subpopulation analyses.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - National Center for Infectious Diseases – Office of Minority and Women’s Health    

The mission of the Office of Minority and Women’s Health is to assure that the burden and impact of infectious diseases among racial and ethnic minorities and women is acknowledged and addressed through research, surveillance, education, training, and program development.

The CDC’s Office of Women’s Health is working to promote and protect the health, safety and quality of life of women at every stage of life.

Indian Health Services – Women’s Health

The Indian Health Services Women's Health website provides information on female maturation and psychosocial issues specific to American Indian and Alaskan Native women.

National Institutes of Health – Office of Research on Women

The Office of Research on Women's Health serves as a focal point for women's health research at the NIH. 

The Office of Women’s Health - The National Women’s Health Information Center  

The National Women’s Health Information Center website offers reliable and current information on women’s health issues.  Free information is provided on many health topics via the Center’s website or by calling the Call Center. 

The Office of Women’s Health - Quick Health Data Online  

The Quick Health Data Online system provides county-level data for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and US territories and possessions. Data are available by gender, race and ethnicity and, to the extent possible, age.
