Agenda: Discuss implementation action plan


NOVEMBER 2007

Notice of Public Meeting: Maryland Statewide Commission on the Shortage in the Health Care Workforce workgroup meeting, November 15, 2007 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM.   

The meeting will be held at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, 201 West Preston Street, Lobby-level Conference Room, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.

Agenda: Finalize recommendations and discuss implementation action plan. 

Meeting Conclusions:  Agreed on recommendations.  Agreed not to discuss implementation action plan which may be developed by a new group.  The recommendations are to be first endorsed by the leadership.


OCTOBER 2007

The meeting will be held at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, 201 West Preston Street, Lobby-level Conference Room, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.

Agenda: Review and edit draft 2007 Annual Report. 

Meeting Conclusions: Ensure that all vital components are adequately covered in the report. Conduct Committee breakout sessions as necessary.  Agree on final report to submit to DHMH Office of Governmental Affairs and Public Relations.


SEPTEMBER 2007

Meeting Conclusions: Continue committee breakout sessions on education, recruitment, and retention to finalize recommendations from the Education, Recruitment, and Retention Committees; Discuss language for the development of new health care workforce policies.

Meeting Conclusions: Enhance collaboration with existing groups working on health care workforce shortage.  Review of health care workforce programmatic gaps.  Plan for the release of the MSCSHW Mid-year Report 2007. 


APRIL 2007

Meeting Conclusions: Develop three committees to achieve the Commission’s goals: Education Committee; Recruitment Committee; and Retention Committee.  Develop outline for the Mid-year Report 2007.
